For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
After becoming hooked on this forum since I dicovered it a couple of days ago, I thought I'd just say a quick hello to everyone.
I've actually been doing 5:2 for4weeks and am really starting to believe that I have finally found a diet, or rather lifestyle, that I can live.
However so far, I haven't really been sharing the joy,ive been feeling since starting 5:2 as I've started and stoped so many diets over the last 20 years that I'm embarassed to tell people that I really have found "The Holy Grail" this time!!!!!!!!
I think I'll wait untill people actually start noticing the weight loss (so far lost 6 lbs) and then hopefully I can convince a few buddies to join me on this journey.
I know 5:2 is getting more and more media attention, but it hasn't hit the main stream where I am,so it is truly amazing to have a forum like this where everyonecan share stories, find information and other people who understand exactly what they are experiencing.
I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Emerald17, I can feel your joy jumping off the page :)I have found this forum to be a great help. Everyone seems to be like minded and very helpful and it's so nice to talk about being on a 'Fast' without having to listen to negative coments from people that dont really understand whats involved.

That's exactly why I'm keeping quiet about it for the mo.
But it's great to be able to come on here on and celebrate the fact that we've discovered 5:2. But like I say, I hope in time friends will ask about my "latest diet" . And i will be only to happy to spill the beans!!!!!
Hi Emerald and welcome, you and I have the same view point and it's so funny not telling people like this is some big secret but for me it's necessary, though my work blouse is definately looking a bit baggy :)

Welcome to the forum Emerald, glad you found us, it's great that it works isn't it, and it's very do-able without anyone having to know you're even on a 'diet'
