Newbie!
21 Feb 2013, 20:45
Hi all,

I just started the 5:2 diet this week!

Monday was my first 'fast' day and it was a KILLER! I nearly gave up (and that is very unlike me) but I survived! & that was without gobbling up one of my children! All jokes aside, I am glad I battled through it as today was my 2nd 'fast' day and I feel great! I have even just sat next to my husband whilst he used the remainder of his 600 calories on a bowl of cereal resisting the urge to lunge forward and bite his arm off

*high fives you all*

Anyway just wanted to say hi and would love to hear how you guys are getting on...

Glad to hear you've found it easier on your second fast day.

Hi J0dieKay!
I too started Monday and had my second day yesterday. I found my first day was easy until I had my meal and then found myself doing some unscheduled housework to keep me away from food! Yesterday went great too but today I could eat a horse ( Where are the Findus Lasagnes when you need one!).
I'm going to have to be careful I don't blow it all tonight as I have a drink or two scheduled in for a treat, and I will be so disappointed with myself if I undo this weeks hard work.
Fingers crossed Monday comes without any hitches :)

Hope Monday goes ok for you!

Isnt that the thing with this though, you shouldnt have to worry about what you eat/drink on your feast days...

I feel bloated today but hey onwards and upwards :-)

Hi Jodiekay, I also started Monday so it will be my first weekly weigh in tomorrow, first time I've ever looked forward to weighing myself, :? Good luck with the 5:2.

HI JOdieKay!

I lost 3lb by Monday morning and was pleased but not over the moon. I know that it's in the right direction but I made the mistake of getting weighed on Friday morning after Thursdays fast - and I was 7lb down!
Looking at the posts on here I saw that some people mentioned doing their weigh-in after a fast day, as then its just your bodyweight you are monitoring and nothing to do with what you have eaten the previous day, which kind of makes sense. So I think I am going to go with that next week.
In honesty, I am less worried about losing weight slower if I know it is definitely coming off and will stay off, but my other half was seriously disappointed with just dropping 1lb so it's more to keep him happy :)

How did you do?
