Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello

On my 2nd week but I am doing 4:3 as I have a lot to lose. Tried every diet going and it's great at the start then I plateau and get frustrated and it all goes back on again. Loving this plan and so far so good as I am down 8.9lbs. Hopefully this is the way for me. :)

Welcome to the forum, Vixs. 8.9lbs is a great start! IF (intermittent fasting) is forever, but it's not a problem because you still get to eat normally on the 'off' days and your body repairs on the fast days.

The rate of loss will probably slow down, but hey even if you weren't losing any weight (and you will be), 5:2 would still (it seems) be good for you!

I am expecting the weight loss to slow down, been told by my GP it will be harder to lose weight and the loss will be slower as I have an underactive thyroid but I hope this still works as I have 6 stone to lose. The health benefits with this plan is too good not to try! :)
