Hi Everyone

2nd fast day for me today. Inadvertently picked up Michael Moseley's book on Monday and decided to start out on the quest to reachieve my 30's look on Tuesday. So far the fast days have been fine and I've found that if I wait until dinner time to consume my calories I fare much better in the hunger stakes. Weighed myself the day after 1st fast and was pleased to see myself 4lbs lighter (i know most of that will be water, but I was still happy). The rest of the week hasn't been quite so good, half term holidays coupled with my daughters birthday has led to plenty of treats this week (and alcohol).

I'm back to work tomorrow and hoping that this week I can be more restrained, however I do struggle at times because I work long 13 hour shifts and alternate between days and nights (this week Mon Night, Wed day then Sat and Sun night) so I'm sometimes all over the place with my eating patterns. However I have picked out my fast days for the next month ahead working around the strange working pattern and hope that this helps me a little more.

So I hit 40 in just under a months time and have been saying (but not really doing much about it) that I wanted to be 1 1/2 stone lighter for my milestone. Realistically I know there is no way I can achieve this but I'm hoping I could get close to a 1/2 stone loss by then with a total loss of 1 1/2 stone by the summer.

Looking forward to getting to know other 5:2 dieters and sharing tips, traumas and stories along the way.
I am 46, and I have to say, I'm indulging! But even though I'm literally eating anything I want, I also find I'm just wanting a bit less. Yesterday, I woke up and went to the local patisserie and bought croissants and a baguette. I have been doing this since Jan 8, and have lost about a pound a week. I'm thrilled with the results and with the fact that on five days a week, I'm just not worrying about it.

I know there are people counting all of their calories, even on feed days, but I assure you I am not one of them.

Because of that, I'm pretty sure I can do this for the long haul. Yes, the fast days aren't always easy, but I just think to myself "I can have *that* tomorrow!" and then if I still do want it tomorrow, I have it :-)

Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy it here
