78 years old dieting

Hi
Does anyone have any info about whether it is OK for a 78 year old to diet?
I personally have been following the diet for approx 1 month, and feel better in myself although weight loss is slow. I admit to being a person who resists exercise so am making this my next priority and joining a walking group locally.

Thanks, Atricapilla :?

Hi Atricapilla, I am 78 in May and have been 5:2 ing for three weeks now. If you have a look in 'nerdy stuff' newbie from Durum page 4/5 I made mention of older people and IF. There is a reply from Caroline which was helpful. I'm fasting today and find not eating until evening meal best for me. No worries so far and hoping to lower my BP medication which has just been put up! I'm not very good at exercising these cold days but hope to get back to dog walking when the weather warms up, husband does it now. I think there are 4 of us over 75s. Good fasting.
