For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm a 69 year old woman and I've just started the 5:2 diet today. Trying hard to keep to well below the 500 cals and seem to be doing OK. I'm 13 stone now and would love to be 10 and a half before my cruise in September. I've dieted before but have always put it back on. Hated the thought of every day dieting again. Here's hoping this is the new lifestyle for me! It's lovely to see that there is this forum to help. I will also have a look at the facebook page.It helps to be able to ask other people on the diet how things are going for them. Good luck to you all x

Welcome Irene! I know what you mean, I hate everyday dieting too. This one is so different, and I love the fact I only have to diet two days per week. The first few fast days were hard for me, but it's gotten so much easier and I've learned hunger isn't that big of a deal!

Hi Irene and welcome. That's the great thing about 5:2 - you don't have to give up anything ! Plus all the other possible health benefits too of course. This is a great forum - oodles of knowledge/information and friendly/chatty people. Good luck - hope you reach your weight for the cruise - what a lovely incentive :)
