Just joined...hello from Oz

Hi everyone

I have just joined the forum after reading the Fast Diet book. I have now had 2 fast days and am feeling great.

I have been on MFP (myfitnesspal) for just over 12 months now and I loved it and lost 15kgs initially but then slowed right down and over summer and the holiday period I have started to gain a couple of kilos. At 52 and slap bang in the middle of menopause I am finding it very slow going and its too easy to lose focus.... although I do have a very healthy diet in general I am prone to the occasional indulgence so this approach sounds like it might suit me perfectly.

I also took up running 12 months ago and am still loving it but also very slow progress....I can run 5km....have even managed 7km a few times....but I'm quite slow and the summer humidity has really knocked me back a bit.....but I ran this morning after fasting yesterday and I feel great!

I'm looking forward to reading some of the posts and getting some inspiration and I really hope this gives my body the kickstart I need.

Lisa :)

Welcome to the forum! Oh late summer sounds so lovely right now. We're in late winter, and getting a snow/ice storm later tonight.

I hope you find lots of great inspiration here. I am also prone to indulgences and that's why I think this diet is something I can stick with :-)

I read your post and it could have been me writing it! Same age, I live in Sydney and summer humidity makes it hard to exercise outside. I have been doing this for a few weeks and despite having had overseas visitors and lots of lovely dinners out I have been losing consistently. Good luck with the program. These forums are really good to browse on fast days.
