I'm new to the forum, but been doing the 5:2 for 3 weeks now. For 6 weeks prior to that I was doing the usual calorie crunching and getting very fed up at the slow progess. For the previous 6 weeks at 1400 calories a day, I only lost 4 lb, but in the 3 weeks on 5:2, I've lost another 4 lb, but more importantly, it's been so easy and I feel so good!
At 58, I'm very lucky that I don't have any major health issues, but at 2 and a half stone overweight, I know it's just a matter of time if I don't do anything. This is what really excites me about this WOE. What started out as just a way to lose weight, has now become a crusade for better health too! No doubt I'll be posting in the 'Nerdy Stuff' section soon, as I can't get enough of all the science stuff behind this.
It's been brilliant reading all your interesting posts, which has really spurred me on, so thank you all for that and I hope I'll be able to contribute in the future too.
