Hi deb,
Nothing to be scared of and you can't really fail because there is always another day to try again.
My advice is get prepared, decide what you are going to eat when, and have it prepared ready.
I drink mugs and mugs of fruit tea to keep the hunger pangs at bay, and do my best to have a busy day, eating from boredom is something that we all do sometimes.
Good luck :D
Hi Deb. SianS is right. Prepare. You might have a good idea of how you intend to do the fast day. I.E. one meal, two meals, three meals or grazing all day etc. You might find after two or three fasting days you decide to change the way you do it. My first two weeks, my fast days were about 800 cals. Once I got it under my belt, I was fine. Remember too that if you don't manage to get it right today, as SianS said, there's always another day. I drink tea and coffee (black), tonic water and at lunch time I go wild and have a cup of Bovril. I tell myself it's a slice of steak - ha ha. I eat one meal a day and make sure it's packed with very low calorie veg and zero noodles and spice it up with chilli flakes etc. If I find I'm having a wobble I get busy and remind myself that tomorrow I can eat what I want, but I invariably don't gorge on my eat days. Good luck and enjoy it.
totally agree with sian s and monty....be prepared!!!!dont leave it until your fast day to start looking up the calorie count on foods and portion sizes.....know what you are going to eat and how you are going to use the 500 kcal...
Try to keep busy that day...I work during the day and on a fast day when I get home and have my dinner I try to give myself a little pamper such as a hot bath or manicure etc just to make me feel good....then curl up in my pjs with a good book ..then an early night!!!....others have said they clean or organise cupboards etc...anything to keep your mind off the fast
It does get better and easier.....I have nt got to the stage where I look forward to my fast but Im on number 6 tomorrow and I can honestly tell you that at least Im not dreading it!
We are all here to support each other...so come on line ...there's always loads of good advice help and support if you need it
Best of luck :D
