Hi, ny name is Jackie and i am currenly 10kgs over what i want to weigh, i used to do slimming world and was at my target weight until last year, i cannot get back into it, so i thought i would try this way of eating.
Tuesday was my first fast day and i had glorious soup, melon and porridge. I did not really get hungry, today i am having melon, an egg in a wholemeal roll then glorious soup for tea. I have a feeling i am going to eat more or less the same things on my fast days but i don't mind this as eat so varied the rest of the week. I am using my fitness pal for the whole week and am trying to stick to 1700 calories the other 5 days. I am hoping its not going to make me over eat on my non fast days, yesterday i felt i have over did it but only had 1800 calories, because i am so used to trying to diet every day to not diet on 5 days seems a real treat.

Do we have to count sugar free gum as i am getting through 2 packets a day on fast days. ?

Hi Jackie

Im doing this with my hubby, mum and my friend, we have all tried every diet known to mankind. But being on this diet it just seems to work. When i start a diet i'd eat my breakfast and automaticley think what i'm going to be having for lunch, and then by weigh in day if i had stayed the same would be kicking myself as i had been so good how can i not have lost, and it had been hard as well. But this diet just doesn't fill like that. You are only depriving yourself for 2 days, but i don't overdo it on the non fast days.

Not sure about sugar free gum. If it has cals i would think you would count them in your 500 cals. My mum is counting the cals on non fast days and can't believe how many cals are in things as she is a WeightWatchers queen, she would eat so many satsumas and cherry tomatoes and they were free and no points, she nearly feel over when she found out how many cals they had, no wonder she wasn't loosing the weight!!!

Welcome Jackie
It really is a different mind set to other 'diets'....more a WOL !!!!
TRy to get away from counting calories on non fast days ....we all know the 'rules' if we are being honest with ourselves ...we know that the large slice of choc cake aint good or the fried fatty foods...so on non fast days try to make as many sensible food choices as you can but having the odd treat here and there...nothing is banned..thats the joy...no feelings of deprivation...Im doing my 6th fast today and to be honest it gets easier and on feed days I dont go mad ...because I have the choice now...does that make sense?...I know what you are saying too flabbynana...I too was WW queen ...so on fast days had to be careful because I looked at fruit and veg as free!!!!! lol....good luck !
