The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I've just started 5:2 today after 5 years of being 1 stone too heavy and not really doing anything about it.
I have consumed 600 calories today instead of 500. Not going to fret about it but will try and be more imaginative about meal planning for fast days. I believe less carbs and more protein and veg are good for getting you through a fast day? I'm also off work today, so it'll be easier for me to stick to when I'm not at home. I eat when I'm bored...

Anyways, loving the forum so far!
HI & welcome :)

Don't beat yourself up over going over your calories today, it's probably still a lot less than you'd usually eat in a day :)

Yes, lots of veg and a good portion of protein are good on a fast day - but that being said, I've not cut out carbs and have done well with my los, nor do I struggle on fast days.

Hope you enjoy being part of the forums :) Feel free to use the Progess Tracker to keep an eye on how you're doing and how the rest of the forums loss compares!
I just want to echo what Moogie said :-) Welcome!
