For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi i'm Michelle,

I've been fasting Monday's and Thursday's since 14th Jan 13 and have lost over 3 kgs. I eat what ever I want on my non fast days and still drink alcohol.

I am so glad to find other people following this plan, I want to lose weight but I am also benefiting from other health benefits. I have loads more energy, and.. and this is the bit i'm wanting to share and see if anyone else has experienced this... I suffer from abscesses, I have had such a nasty one that became resistant to antibiotics and I had been suffering from since Oct 12. After six weeks fasting it has gone completely with no treatment what so ever! I am due to see a surgeon in April and don't have anything to show him! I am so very very happy. In fact i'm noticing how happy I am, even on my fast days.

This could be due to the steady weight loss after years of trying, and feeling like I am not trying at all!

It's great to hear that you've had such success with 5:2, especially with your abcesses, that's fantastic! You must be delighted :)

I know what you mean about the happiness, weight loss has been such a chore over the years and yet this is seemingly effortless *and* I still get to eat all my favourite things - a lot of the time!

That's great! How interesting about your absesses disapearing. Maybe it shoud be renamed the 5:2 cure!

I've been sleeping a lot better and full of energy the day after a fast.
