If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hey all

Found out about the 5:2 a week ago and decided to try it - after two fast days I already lost 5lbs (or in my case, about 2.2 kgs) this morning! Nearly fell off the scale with excitement! I'm sure it won't be that much every week, but what a fantastic kick-start and motivation to continue to eat right!

Despite loads of exercise and obsessive calorie counting the past two months, my weight just seemed to stay on a plateau; I think this diet might well be my saving grace!

Felt a little hungy at times on the fast days; but much less than I expected, and overall I feel great!

All your posts I've read so far have been very helpful - Yay for 5:2! :D
Hi Stella & welcome! Well done on your great first week's loss - maybe you'd like to enter it in our handy progress tracker and watch the weight chart's line go downwards? :) It also helps us build up a better picture of how 5:2 works for different people as the system also pulls together stats and charts for the forums as a whole.

I had exactly the same problem, calorie counting & exercise weren't working for me anymore, then I found 5:2 last August and have since lost almost 16kg :)
I definitely will Moogie - in fact I started, and then realised I was unsure about my length, so I'll go measure again this weekend!
