For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Just starting out...

Into my second week of 5:2 diet. Lost 4lbs 1st week and have to say I've been far from good on my 'normal' eating days. Not enjoying the fasting days but managing to get through the hunger with the small meals and plenty of drinks. Really hungry first night of fast day but since then not been a problem. I do tend to jump on scales too often and must try and do just once a week. Sunday is going to be my weigh day. So far on course for another 4lbs - we will see!

Well done Lynda, i too am new to this, my first week at it & I've done the 2 fast days & haven't found them tooo difficult ..... what a joy to know that tomorrow life is 'normal' again, rather than the interminable 'never again' scenario !!!! I've lost just over 2kg this week, which I recognise is too much & must be a water thing, so I'm expecting a bit of a bounce back up, I just have to look at the overall result :)
This feels like a sustainable diet :) :)
