Hi Everyone, have just completed my 2nd day of fasting and so far so good...just hope I can keep up the 5:2 over the coming weeks so I can see some real health benefits and weight loss

Hope everyone else is doing well and reaching their goals.

Any advice on sticking at this or what to eat on fasting days much appreciated.

Hi Bigginsa1 & welcome to the forums :)

The best advice in terms of sticking to 5:2 is to find a method which works for you and is easy for you too! Some of us find it easier not to eat all day and then have all our calories for dinner, others like to have 3 small meals or skip a meal.

Personally I find the moment I eat something I feel ravenous, so I save all my cals for dinnertime. I don't feel hungry very often in the daytime and if I do have a tummy growl I just 'feed' it some water :) Lots of water really does help!

I like the two meal approach as in the book (breakfast & diner). I couldn't do without breakfast, I'm not necessarily hungry then, but see it as taking on of fuel. What I have found though, is that I feel that on the day after the fast day, even though I've had breakfast, that until I eat lunch I'm still in calorie deficit. So there's almost an advantage in eating breakfast on the fast day in that it limit's the calories available until lunchtime the following feed day.
