Just discovered this forum - what a lovely bunch!
I first heard about 5:2 about a month ago from my mother, a nurse who has always hated the fad crash diets promoted by the media. Therefore her interest in 5:2 and the scientific research into its health benefits immediately caught my attention. Last week I finally bought the book and watched Michael's Horizon documentary and began to get excited. I started the 5:2 plan the very next day. I'm currently on my second fast day and am finding it remarkably easy and if anything feel more focussed and relaxed. A good start. I hope it continues!
I'm keen to shed a few pounds, a stone would be lovely, but I'm more interested in the other health benefits. I quit smoking in the New Year and really want to start treating my body with more respect - you only get one after all.
