If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi! I am starting 5:2 today. I have two books, The Fast Diet, and the 5:2 Diet, and I can't read enough about it! Here in the States this eating plan is just getting its footing. I hope it becomes popular; it's a wonderful concept I feel I can live with...finally a way of eating that clicked immediately with me.

I have started eating a plant-based diet, have a lot of weight to lose, and today is my first fasting day.

Hi, welcome and good luck with your first fast. It gets easier as you go along, the most surprising thing is your attitude to food on non fast days. I love to snack in the evenings, at least I did, now I rarely think of it. :smile:

Hi there! I'm new too - first fast day today, feeling absolutely fine and so motivated.
Like you I've got both books and the plan sounds great.
Keep us updated with your progress!
I lost 8kg on Dukan last year (nothing like a wedding to motivate a gal!) but have fallen back into bad, piggish habits and I'm hoping this way of eating will be much more lifestyle-friendly.
