I'm a 56 year old male, I weigh 12 1/2 stone and am 5' 7" tall therefore with a bmi of around 28. I have a 34" waist.
I'm fairly active and run at least 3 miles, 5 days a week. I'm not really looking to lose much more weight but would like to get down to a 32" waist.
My fast days are Mondays and Thursdays when I tend to drink tea all day and have a chicken or salmon stir fry for my evening meal with no starchy carbs.
The rest of the week I stick to a low starch diet with plenty of fish, salad, olives, avacados, vegetables, nuts and some fruit.
A few years ago I reached 16 stone and had a 42 inch waist. I dieted down to 12 1/2 stone but found that I would creep back up to 13 -14 stone if I didn't keep an eye on my intake. The 5:2 diet helps me to maintain my weight loss and, I think, has improved my general well-being.
