The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Newbie from Canada

I have had 2 fasts this week and those days went along fine, at 500 calories. That was eggs and veg for breakfast and salmon and veg for supper. Lots of water and too much black coffee. I lost 30 pounds (2 stones) 5 years ago and put that back on, gradually. I did a calorie count then, but I have not had the patience for all that tracking since. I am hoping this will be easier, tracking just 2 days a week and stopping at 500. (so far so good). I found 5:2 diet, discussion and then book last week after seeing a little news item. So the Brits have been way ahead of us on this one.

Hi Kate! Were are you in the Great White North? I'm not too far from Quebec province, myself.

Welcome to the boards :-)

I am safe from poutine. It's around here, but you really have to look for it. But we donut shops on every corner.
