I've just registered and I thought I'd introduce myself. I've been fasting on and off since I saw the BBC Horizon programme when it first aired. However, since Pancake Day I've been making a proper go of it.
I think what I'm doing is closer to Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat than 5:2 as it's defined in The Fast Diet book. However, like any fasting plan I've adapted it to my lifestyle rather than trying to stick to other people's rules.
So far I've managed to lose 11lb - a drop from 15st 10lb to 14st 13lb. I feel so much better for it and find fasting so easy now. I'm trying to bring my BMI down to at least 25 as my wife and I are trying for a baby and the doctor has said that this will help more than anything else.
