Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I have to say, it's nowhere near as scary as it sounds! I was so nervous about my first few fasts!! but in all honesty, they get to be so much easier once you have experience with them. Now they're hardly anything to notice at all if I plan well. I figure out my menu in advance, so that fast day is easy peasy. I even often cook the night before a fast, so that all I have to do is reheat dinner on fast night. Yes, I have learned the hard way that cooking a lovely stew for an hour and a half before dinner is hard when you're fasting!
I generally am fine until about 1 or 2pm. I have black coffee in the morning, lots of water and possibly herbal tea through the day. Then in the afternoon when I start to get hungry, I usually have a cup or two of chicken bouillon. I eat a good dinner at 6pm with the rest of my calories and it lasts me until bed. I try to make it veggie heavy, since they give you lots of filling food for few calories. I might do a veggie curry, or a bean stew, or grill some herbed chicken breasts and roast a bunch of veggies like asparagus and carrots. There are lots of ideas in the recipes forum
