On day 2 now and I have to say the banana I ate this morning tasted divine! Yesterday was my first fast day. I had 40g of All bran and a small plate of Chilli with salad leaves for tea. I didnt feel too bad during the day, but in the evening after I had had the chilli, I was really hungry. I kind of wish, i hadn't bothered eating. In the end, I went to bed at 9pm to starve off the hunger pains! Thursday is my next fast day.
Well done on completing your first fast day - it really isn't as bad as you imagine is it!

I understand how you feel in the evening - I had spag bol for tea (little mince, loads of veg and about 10 strands of spaghetti but yummy) and after that I was hungry all evening!

Drank about a gallon of fizzy water to get me through until bedtime!

Enjoy your food over the next two days and have a good fast on Thursday when I will be fasting again too!
Hi, I started yesterday too and agree, it wasn't too bad, but like you went to bed with hunger pains.

I was craving a cup of Yorkshire Tea with milk and sugar this morning though. I think planning is the key for fast days. Thursday is my next day too.
I find this plan confusing as I thought the aim was to 'fast' throughout the day, but people are spreading the 500 calories over three meals? What is the best way forward for the health benefits and weight loss?
It's not a true fast as such, more of a very low calorie day. Although it would seem to make sense that longer periods without food provide greater health benefits, there hasn't really been enough research to back this up. The great thing about this lifestyle is its flexibility, so folks can divide their cals however works best for them. Many of us have 0 cals for 24 hours, followed by a meal of up to 500 cals.
I started off spreading out the 500 cals into three "meals" but after reading about other people's experiences tried just having one 500 cal meal. I'm now using that approach each fast day.

I seem to be able to cope with the hunger better that way and I think it might help the weight loss - but I can't prove it!
