I am another newbie, but feel as though as I must have been living in a black hole as I only heard about the 5:2 diet on Sunday, and started it on Monday (yesterday) with my first fast. I am pleased that survived, but feel that I might have obsessed a bit much about food on Day 1, and I'm going to have to cut that out if I am to succeed.
I have to confess that I hate dieting, and I have very little time for people who calorie count, buy reduced fat sausages and that sort of thing. However, as my BMI and age suggest, I am, despite my nonchalance, getting larger and larger each year, and whilst I may not want to diet (who does) I am drawn to the 5:2 diet not only for weight loss, but for potential positive health benefits too.
Co-incidentally, this morning I awoke without a stuffy nose and runny eyes for the 1st time ever - could this be a direct benefit of my 1st fast? Fingers crossed.
So I am really glad that I found this forum as I really need this diet to succeed (where all others, undertaken at least 10 years ago, have failed).
Tips, advice (and support) will all be greatfully received
