Hi everyone,

Goodness, I now belong to a few different forums on intermittent fasting, and I forgot my original username/password for this one, so here I am re-registering. I really like this forum the best, so I'll be sticking with you guys. This is also a good reminder for me to stick with ONE username and ONE password all the time, so I don't confuse myself. ha ha!

Seriously though, I am so thrilled I've finally found a way of eating I can make a lifestyle. I lost 1.5 lbs. my first week with absolutely no deprivation. I don't consider my 2 fast days a week deprivation, because they are a training tool for me to get in touch with my body, and there's always the next day to eat what I want. Before doing intermittent fasting, I can honestly say I was so out of touch with my hunger signals.

Another amazing thing is that the day after my fast day, I just don't overeat! I still can't believe it. I have about 50 lbs. to lose and I am confident I will do it all through the 5:2 way of eating.

Glad to be here!
Hi Coffeebrain & welcome back! :) If you like I can try to find your old account for you, if you know what email address you might have signed up with? I'm flattered that this place is your favourite :D

It's great to hear you're doing so well with 5:2, long may it continue! Please feel free to use the progress tracker to log your losses & contribute to our forum-wide stats!
Thank you Moogie - I'll just stick with coffeebrain as my user name!

Yes, this is a very nice forum, and I like it here. It is very true to the spirit of 5:2 eating, whereas some forums veer off into calorie counting on "feed" days, etc. I believe one of the reasons this is working so well for me is that I only count calories twice a week. I am being very faithful to the precepts in the FastDiet book. But for those who need to calorie count on their "feed" days...count away! I couldn't do this if I had to.

I will look for the progress tracker to use. Thank you again for having such a nice forum.
Hi Coffebean,

Congratlations on your first weight loss and many more to come.
I have lost 6 kilo in 3 weeks and am very very happy with that.
I am like you as l do NOT count calories on a feast day or l could not do it either, l have counted calories all my life.
Good luck with the rest of your journey!!! xx
Well done Coffeebrain for your loss.

I am just finishing my second fast day and so far have had no problem, very slight hunger feeling but knowing that tomorrow I can eat cake, sweets etc if I wanted has spurred me on. Like you said I don't think I could do it either if I had to count calories every day. That is what pulled me to this way of life, no restrictions.

Keep up the good work. My first weigh in will be on Saturday and hopefully I will be able to publish a loss on my tracker. :like:
Well i am new to the site, and the diet. I'm on my my 1st fast day and can't really get my head round the none fast days, i've counted calories for the last 2 years ang lost 2 stone but can't budge my last stone so here's hoping this works
Hi jojo and atom, thanks for your feedback!

I've counted calories, points, fat grams, carbs for most of my life, and I am still fat! I never could stick with it and make it a lifestyle. As soon as I heard about this way of eating, something clicked. I can't even explain it, but before I even bought the Fastdiet book, I knew this was for me.

I do weigh in every day, realizing that my weight will go up and down on any given day, but at the end of the week I saw a loss. I haven't been able to lose weight for years, so you can see I am thrilled. And what really shocked me is that I have no desire to binge eat the day after my fast.

Here's to us! We can do this!
Everyone is so positive, it's refreshing. Nice to hear of such successes. Today is my first fast day and I'm doing quite well, a few moments of hunger but nothing I can't overcome. Like atom2000 said, knowing I can eat cake, sweets it motivates me to keep going. I remind myself that tomorrow is another day and that food will be there.
