Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't know if or how this affects weight loss.
I'm sure somebody more scientifically minded will be along to give you some wise words.
Just do what you can, the success of the 5:2 plan is due to the fact that you can fit it around your life and social commitments, without having to give things up. Thats what makes it so much easier to stick to long term than other diets!
I agree with Bellalou, do your normal fast on one day, then is there another day, perhaps when you are out for dinner in the evening, that you can fast during the day as a 'mini fast' , then enjoy yourself and relax that evening.
Then its like you are getting in 1 1/2 fasts in the week which is still really good!
I have actually turned today into a fast day after all. It's 2.30pm and I've only had a cup of coffee and several glasses of water so I'm going to get two days in after all.
