Just wanted to say hi. I'm new on here. On the basis of my BMI I'm obese. My wife and I have just been blessed with a wonderful bouncing baby boy and I don't want to be a fat dad who cant keep up with or play with his son. I watched Horizon and even though I had trepidation I gave 5:2 a go for the weight loss and longevity.
I've tried Atkins/Montignac in the past and lost weight, but always "larded" up again as soon as I stopped. Ive been doing 5:2 for a couple of weeks now and can see some clear changes in my body's understanding of food. I no longer pig out as I did before, as I know I don't need to. I know I don't need to because I made it through the fast day. This diet feels like it resets your body's physical and mental demand for food. I also aim for small portions on side plates rather than filling up a dinner plate. Whats more, I can even have a few beers on normal days and the Kgs still appear to be dropping. Love it! This feels likes it sustainable.
For the first time in years I only eat when I'm hungry.
Good luck to all, I think and hope this is a life changer.
DMM.
