Hi all,

Just checking in for the first time, I've been searching the web for a few days now and having looked at a few forums have finally chosen this as the one to be a member of.

I bet you feel so honoured

Started my 5/2 last week after a heavy booze n food binge weekend and a very scary thought sunk in, 40 years old in December and feel if I don't get to a healthy weight by then I never will.

My daughter first told me about the 5/2 diet after seeing it on tv, I did find it interesting but never actually did anything about it until now. So glad I did as I feel so much better already and it's only been just over a week.
Just completed my fourth fast day yesterday so today is a feast day for me, not that I will feast that much since I'm not really feeling that hungry! How amazing is that?
I think that's the beauty of this diet, you go a whole day on minimal calories then the following day you just eat normally, or maybe even a little healthier than normal.

Also I feel another really important factor is that I feel so positive mentally, it's like I've had a life changing moment and I know I can keep to it. Unlike other times when starting a diet for the hundredth time and deep down knowing that it will only lead to failure as its just not sustainable.

Sorry for the long first post, not sure what came over me as I'm not usually big on writing,(normally just read other people's posts to try and relate)

Off now for a brew!

Happy fasting

Welcome to the forums and I'm so glad you're liking it :-)

I agree so much - especially about feeling so positive mentally. I've never been on a diet where I was actually happy about it! Makes all the difference

Sure does!

Even though today is a normal day I'm still being cautious about what I'm eating and am definitely drinking more water even without thinking about it, just seems more normal to take regular swigs out of a bottle (water)
