First Feast Day
15 Mar 2013, 22:08
Yesterday was my first Fast day and it was fairly easy, didn't eat until 6PM and only had 366 calories. Thought I would be famished this morning, but found I had no appetite at all.
Ended up skipping breakfast, doing some shopping, skipping lunch, and was not hungry until mid afternoon at which time I ate a cheeseburger. I'm still full from that and probably won't need a full dinner, maybe just a snack later on.
Who would've thought that not eating would lead to loss of appetite! Now looking forward to my next fast day on Monday.

Okay, I may be hypersensitive to this, but your posts makes me a little uncomfortable. My mom had anorexia when I was a child. Frankly, I think you need to eat a bit more than that on a feed day. It's not good to celebrate such a huge loss in appetite. Sure, skipping an occasional meal won't hurt anyone, but you're practically fasting for a second day.

If you need guidance, you can calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure and figure out what you are supposed to be eating in a day. Just google "Calculate TDEE". On fast days, you should eat 25% of that figure. On feed days, you should at 100 to 110% of that figure.

Please know that I'm saying this out of concern for your well being and not to be nasty. I waited a day to see if anyone else was going to comment, and I suspect your post has made others as uncomfortable as it made me.

:shame: Hi Tracieknits: Thanks for your concern and apologize to anyone I made uncomfortable. I was just so overjoyed not to be hungry since I'm normally hungry all the time! And I was thinking about if I should just go ahead and do my 2 days consecutively since I was that far anyway. I guess I need to read some more on that...am now reading Brad Pilon's "Eat, Stop, Eat."

Anyway, I ended up having a hot dog for dinner last night and today my appetite is back full force. So I will enjoy my weekend foodwise and see how my fast day on Monday goes.

Still cold up North? Is another snowstorm in the forecast?

So glad you took it as concern and not me just being mean! I know I can be a bit sensitive to these things :-)

Glad to hear it's evened out. I know I am impressed when I don't feel like eating enough for three ;-)

Yes, it's a bit colder, but there's no snow on the ground and I think the storm will go South of us. It's definitely looking like Spring up here. My tulips are sprouting and my new pink ballet flats arrived in the mail
