I am a Kiwi living in Oz and am mother to a 5 yr old and a 6 month old. So my priority is baby kilos, about seven to go, but I want something that maintains me, not something that gets me to a finish line.
I have a crappy relationship with food, it seems to be on my mind a lot, counting points, looking at the clock every 3 hours to snack, so another priority is turning into someone who eats to live as opposed to living to eat.
I saw a brief overview of "the fast diet" over here about a fortnight back. Trawled the Internet for a bit on the whole concept and eventually found this site, and even though UK based (and I keep having to convert stones/pounds!!) beats all other forums/sites hands down.
I have been exploring these forums for the last few weeks and thought I would give 5:2 a go and see how I went before registering.
So after 4 fast days I am extremely excited as it feels like you do have freedom, but at the same time you can exercise complete control.
I am most excited about how I feel come a non fast day as I actually only feel like smaller portions and in a way look forward to my next fast day as a way to get back in charge again.
The balance between freedom to choose and discipline is just right for me. The funny thing is when I am choosing, it still seems I am choosing things that are based on low WW points!
In any case, I did not weigh in the day I commenced, but in weighing in yesterday I had lost 3 kilos since the last time I looked in early February.. Certainly something to keep exploring...
Sorry for blabbing, but i also want to thank the community that already exists on here, your discussions have given me a lot of info and inspiration!
