Progress after first week.

Well first week completed and 2lb lighter. I have never found a diet so easy!

Woke up last Saturday planning to start my first fast on the Monday but thought why wait! I did a 4:3 for my first week. The hardest thing was trying to decide what to eat on my fast days because when I worked out my TDEE my calories for the day was just over 400.

Why so low you ask? Well, being 53 and 5ft tall with a desk job and hardly no exercise it tells me that I don’t need the extra calories to burn. Well, I thought I could not go that low so I opted for 500 calories or as close as I could and it worked. After reading the discussion forum I have found lots of good advice and am more prepared for the week ahead where I plan to go as close to 400 calories as possible.

I have read through lots of posts on this site which gave me ideas/encouragement so last night I downloaded the book for my Kindle, through the site link, just to give me extra insight to the whole diet.

People have commented about the hunger. I agree that it comes in waves but it is manageable when you realise that you only have so many hours to go and then you can eat ‘what you want’.

Keep up the good work everyone and keep posting to give me and others the encouragement they might need. :like:

I too have done just over a week - I started on a Thursday as my previous diets have always started on Mondays and failed miserably! I have therefore done Thursday, Monday, Thursday fasts so far and have lost 2kg ad 2cm round my middle. I am delighted as on the non-fast days at the weekends I have drunk wine, eaten crisps, bread and cheese and so on. My non-fast days during the week I have had about 2000 calories a day but not restricting calories, it just happened that way and I added it up just out of interest. I plan to continue like this and maybe do 4:3 an odd week if there is a reason. Good luck to everyone fasting tomorrow. I find it motivating thinking of all the other 5:2ers fasting on Mondays and Thursdays all over the world!!

Hi, i have also just finished my first week, did a 4:3 and didnt find it really too hard. The worst times though were the evenings. I love a glass of wine most evenings so calculated that into my allowance and it gave me something to look forward too lol!! I lost 3lb my first week and am encouraged by this so here goes for another 4:3. Good luck everyone
