I am a newcomer to the site. I am an Australian currently living in Malaysia with all of its wonderful food choices. The kilos have steadily crept on and as due to my husband's employment we attend a lot of functions I have found it pretty hard to watch what I am eating.
I chanced upon an article on news.com.au about this eating plan and though it sounded like something I could do. I purchased two books, one alternate day diet and the other The Fast diet. Thanks to your link I have also watched the program on line and read info on your site.
So I did my first fasting day yesterday. It was not too bad at all. I did not eat until I had some cuppa chicken soup (45 cals) about 2 pm then had remaining allowed calories for evening meal. I think I was well under the 500 calls for the day and felt quite full after the evening meal. I hope it still works if I do not get hungry.
I woke up today not feeling hungry and really only had brekkie because I though I should as I do not want to end up in starvation mode. So I eat normally today as I understand it.
I think I will try alternate fasting initially and then go to 5: 2 if I find it too hard. I weighed myself and took my waist and thigh measurements so I can hopefully keep track of any progress. I am also now hopeful of all of the health benefits after reading all of the literature.
