Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello there

I've been lurking for a few days, but wanted to say hello - today is my first fast day. I haven't eaten yet, but due to have a yummy looking m&s meal shortly. Been sipping lots of herbal teas and whilst I do feel a little hungry now, it really hasn't been too bad.

For many years I have undertaken many weight loss regimes, WW, dukan, and harcombe to name a few. I've lost weight but found them all fairly difficult to maintain, especially when things are restricted and I then 'cheat'. The biggest thing I've noticed about myself is that I often don't feel hungry when waking, and I regularly have my first meal of the day around 3/4pm. This is why this WOL appeals (as I get told all the time I should be eating breakfast, and should be eating more - they don't see the crazy snacking in the evening after I've had my first bite!) - and with some encouragement hopefully this is something I will be able to achieve.

I don't have a lot to lose, but don't want bad habits to catch up with me, plus the potential health benefits are an added bonus.

Good luck to everyone undertaking this WOL xx

Thanks Jemima, and hello!

Had my first 'feast' day, didn't actually eat as much as I thought I was going to which was good. But still had a gorgeous almond croissant which i haven't allowed myself for many months! Yesterday on fast day kept telling myself 'its just one day and to tomorrow you can have a treat' and that really worked... small steps! Tracking today on my fitness pal to get a rough idea of how much I'm taking in. One more meal and I think I'll be up to my TDEE x
