Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

After buying the Fast Diet book at the end of last week and watching the Horizon programme on the internet, I was really keen to get started and start fasting on Monday. I became really unwell on Saturday night (being sick and what not) and then have spent the last few days eating pretty much nothing (I felt dreadful). Needless to say, I think I have, albeit by accident, fasted for over 2 days this week

I was thinking of fasting on Thursday but my hubby says that I've eaten too little this week to do any more fasting. Anyway, I'm quite looking forward to getting started next week and find this website really inspiring. I'm really interested in the health benefits of IF and the weight loss is going to be a bonus (should I lose any).

I'm not massively overweight at all but I do love my food (I eat healthily but way too much of it and do love a drop of red wine!) I'm hoping this new way of eating/fasting is going to be for me. Fingers crossed :clover:
Welcome Georgie - great friendly forum here - with wonderful help/advice/support. Maybe it's best to start afresh on Monday, gives your body a bit of time to recuperate from whatever's been the problem but on the other hand if today's an OK day for you then maybe tomorrow, Thursday would be possible .... or Friday. I'm sure you'll get some more helpful advice from others. If it was me, I think I'd get geared up for Monday. Good luck with this WOL when you get started, hope all goes well for you :clover:
Thanks for replying and I think you are absolutely right, Monday seems a good day. I've had 3 days of hardly any food (2 days with just drinks) and so need to get back on track before I start fasting although I'm really looking forward to getting going. It's all new and exciting and really looking forward to some health benefits
Hi Georgie, welcome to the forum, its brilliantly encouraging.
From a nurses point of view you should definately give yourself a day or two to get over this and start on Monday.
Good luck x
Thank you, I will
