New from Belgium
20 Mar 2013, 17:13
Hello all,

I just started the 5:2 plan today after reading 3 books about this.
It was my first fast day today and although I was hungry it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

My main goals are weight loss and prevention of cancer.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer just over 2 years ago and I want to do all I can to not get it again.

Wish you all the best

Kind regards,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Welcome to the forum and hope this works for you too.
As Nora says, it does get easier all the time and as you've already experienced today, the hunger is nothing like we all imagine it to be.
Like you, I'm particularly interested in the health benefits for cancer prevention, as my husband has just finished his gruelling treatment plus I have a strong family history of Breast Cancer, so I'm very keen to hear of any new human trials taking place. The future could be very exciting indeed.

Hi Sandy! I used to live in Luxembourg, and popped over into your beautiful country a lot. Whereabouts are you?

Hi Pooky-San,

So good to hear from people living in other countries. I visited Belgium when I was young and my strongest memory is eating delicious moules, frites and mayonaisse. At the time it was really exotic! very best wishes for your continuing good health and hpefully you'll lose some weight into the bargain.

Thank you all for your kind replies :-)

I live near Antwerp and indeed Belgium is famous for a lot of delicious foods (chocolat!)

About the health benefits, my view is that it will for sure not make things worse so that's why I wanted to try this.
@Evie - Wish your husband a good and speedy recovery!
