For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone on what looks like a great forum for the 5.2 diet.
I'm on my second week after reading the book, and so far finding it easy going, I quite enjoy the fast days...knowing you are burning the fat and it's only one day at a time is very doable.
I want to lose around 1stone, not much compared to some, I know, but at my age (53) and menopausal it's not as easy as it used to be! ;) ... Good luck everyone ...

Hi Lynn & welcome to the forums & the 5:2 way of life :)
No doubt about it the older we get the harder it is to lose weight! I'm early 30's and started 5:2 because all the things I used to do in my 20's to lose weight seemed not to work anymore. 5:2 has been great for me and I couldn't be happier with this lifestyle!
