For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Jan, I live in St Lucia in the Caribbean , a 59 year old ex nurse carry a lot of extra pounds. I started a couple of weeks ago and mostly I find the fasting days relatively easy, as long as I drink plenty. The day after fasting I feel high, what a bonus, but I think that is just the lack of guilt that I don't need to concentrate so much on what I'm eating. I generally stick to about 1500 calories on eating days. So far I have Los,t 11 lbs and feel this could be a lifetime habit. I have even been to an evening event where I managed to eat only grilled fist, salad and diet sodas....it's all good!

Hello Jan and welcome. I am 60 and have gently lost just over 14 pounds in the last three months. It just feels like the right way to eat and I don't worry about weight any more. What a great feeling!

Good luck and enjoy the sunshine. It's still snowing in England.
