Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I am a Australian man living in Japan weighing 93 kg which about 18 kg (39.7lb) too much.

I did 10 pm to 9 am fast first. I drank some tea and then had a salad and fruit and a half tuna sandwich. Frankly after the salad with a little dressing I could barely eat anything.

On my "day off", I didn't go too crazy just porridge with mango and blueberries, Tomato and eggs sandwich and raw oats in water with heaped spoon of sugar.

I did my second fast 3 pm to dinner time today.
After my half cabbage and some broccoli and soy sauce and garlic favouring with yogurt desert, I really am totally full.

For dinner, I have some rice with mushrooms and chicken and a couple of slices (half) of cake (my wife gets them as presents from cake shop as she works in a pizzashop) and some deadfried pizza rollover.

We rarely drink "soft drinks" less than once a week. Other than her shop's tasty pizzas then we don't eat fast food.

Next fast planned is after breakfast or before tomorrow. Perhaps 10 am tomorrow to before lunch the next day.
Welcome to the forums!

I'm not sure I follow you. Are you "fasting" for just a few hours?

The idea behind 5:2 is to basically go about 30 hours with only 500 or 600 calories. So you'd have a normal dinner on Monday night, and you'd go to bed. On Tuesday, between waking up and going to bed that night, consume 600 calories. Then breakfast again as normal on Wednesday.
I have to say I didn't follow either.

I would have nothing but the 5/600 cals for the entire day, then eat the next day and then repeat the fast.
Either he has his am pm mixed up or he's taking the Micheal!
Sorry if it was unclear but its over 24 hours each time. 10 pm to 10 pm to 9 am.
