Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Week 1 completed!
25 Mar 2013, 16:06
I have completed my first week of 5:2, and I have lost 4 pounds! I am so excited :victory: The first fast day was horrible, but the second one was much better. I was even able to make it through my Pilates class that day. I am happy that I can eat whatever I want, but I noticed myself making better choices and not binging like I used to. Bring on week #2! :like:

Well done! 4lbs is a very good start.

The fast days get much easier. I'm only in week 3 but by week 2 i looked forward to the fast days. Food choices definitely get better even from early on.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Week 1 completed - scales??

I did dabble for 2 weeks but didn't weigh or record my weight or body fat. So weighed last Monday afternoon with my Salter scales that also measure body fat and started an Excel spreadsheet to record my progress and just weighed and have lost 1lb in the last week but more importantly 3.5% body fat, down from 41% to 37.5% so well-pleased, especially as I haven't been too brilliant on feed days as it was a novelty to eat what I liked, so had a few Subways for lunch as there's a branch a few doors away from where I work, which I very rarely ate before starting the Fast Diet, but as I say, it was a novelty. Over that now though, so will just eat healthily on feed days but not count calories.

Also, I have some cheap Salter scales that measure weight, body fat and water content, but it's my birthday soon, so may ask for some better, more accurate scales, does anybody have any recommendations?
