Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello everyone

I first heard of 5:2 about 8 hours ago from my mother who read about it in a magazine! I have been primal/paleo since the beginning of this year (I have gluten and lactose intolerances which have caused me health problems for years) and have lost 5kgs but I have been looking for something else to give my weight loss a hurry up ... from what I have read about this program so far I think I have found it

I am 44 years old, married with 2 kids (16 and 3) and live in Geraldton, Western Australia. I am a self employed Nail Technician (Nail Artist) and I look forward to gaining new friends as we lose weight.

Can't wait for my book to arrive!

Peace

Fiona
Good luck to you on your new journey! I'm in Adelaide and just transitioned from Calorie Restriction - January - march 2013 lost 12kgs and now doing 5:2. Hoping for the best - bit scary changing over tho - I'm still counting calories just to check I don't overeat. Looking forward to seeing your progress. :)
Hi all - another Aussie newbie here - I live in North Queensland
I first heard about 5:2 a week ago and today I am on my second ever fast day! So far so good and I am not struggling with the fast like I thought I would be. I have found so much helpful info on this great forum.
No one in my part of the world has heard much about 5:2 and I am interested to see how long it will take to become as popular DownUnder as it is is the UK and other countries
Hi fellow Aussies and the rest of the world! I'm Jane from Sydney. So far I have done 5 fast days & lost 2kgs. This is the first plan I have tried that actually works for me & fits in with my life. Yay!
Another Aussie here (from Melbourne), hello all! I'm very happy with 5:2 after two and a bit weeks, not just with the weight loss but with the difference in how I feel and how easy this is compared to anything else I've ever tried. Good luck to everyone!
Hi all Christine from Sydney (well Blue Mountains to be exact). Been doing this for 7 weeks after many attempts at calorie restricting. Soooooo much better. Lost a few kilos so far and clothes feel better because they actually fit now.
Easter wishes to all.
Hi, I'm from Sydney too, almost finished my fourth week.
I'm enjoying the feeling of flexibility on this WOE(apparently this means "way of eating") and can envisage staying on it.
Not a huge weight loss so far but I had a few big do's last week and am so pleased not to have put any weight back on.
All the best to everyone, Gigi
