I posted after my first fast day last week how AWFUL I felt and how I ended up with around 1100 calories that day and still felt terrible. Decided to try again and not restrict down to 500...my goal was 700ish today and I did around 725, plus 30 minutes on the elliptical. I felt hungry today and not really myself, but didn't feel like I was going to die :)

Thursday will try day #3, again for around 700. Will drop to 600 next week and then down to 500 the following if still smooth sailing.

Grateful for this forum!
I'm new to this forum and have completed 2 fast days with about 500-600 calories on each. It wasn't too hard so far. I think it's because I had kind of found a balance before I started. I think it would be really hard if I were to eat a ton on not-fast days. Exercise is really important (walking places and zumba) to making it work for me. I think if I only did fasting or dieting, it would be too hard. Hang in there!
Hi - I am new too and the things that get me through fast days are remembering that hunger does pass and that this is a fast and I am supposed to be hungry.
I'm on about week 7 and the last 3 fasts have been much better. Not terribly hungry just wanting to eat for eatings sake, especially when I've been home all day with not much to do. Normally fast when I'm busy but not today.
I am now torturing myself by baking a chocolate cake. Smells wonderful. Not long to go I can eat in about an hour(not the cake that's for visitors tomorrow).
I'm down 3.6 pounds since last Friday!!!! I can't believe it! I know it won't be so fast every week...but this is awesome!
The fasting is hard at first but it gets easier. You just have to train your body to get used to it. Try skipping breakfast a few mornings and see if you can hold off eating until noon. I find I am always hungry first thing in the a.m. because my body is used to eating at that time.
Day Three is going great! It's just after 1 pm here and I've had about 90 calories so far today. Will have another 90 around 215 and then another 400 or so for dinner so think I'll be under 600 today.

Don't give up! I can feel it will be much easier going forward :)
If it's hard for a person to go from 2000 (for example) to 500, then slowly decreasing the calories they take on fasting days is a very good idea, IMO.
Good for you for not giving up and for doing so well!!!
Keep going, it does get easier. I am now in my 4th week of fasting and have lost 8lb. I have 500 cal on each fast day and have not restricted myself at all on the in between days. When I feel really hungry, I have a large glass of water or a milky coffee from my 200ml skimmed milk allowance. And then I think of all the lovely things I can eat on the next day!!! It;s so worth it!!!!
