Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Midwest Diet Disciple

Hello everyone!

After yet another failed stop and start attempt to follow WW program on line, and a few serious attempts to "think myself thin", I wasn't really looking for a new diet plan. I actually tried to count the number of diet programs I have attempted, the total was 42. and the length of time was all my life really. I stumbled upon the 5-2 by chance while traveling and felt draw to the concept. I have so far done 3 successful fast days, I am pleased to report that the benefits for me included a increased mental focus, improved mood and energy as well and a curious desire to see how this life style will benefit me. Very serendipitous!

Hi Micktbaby and welcme! :)

A lot of forum members have been on many diets before finding 5:2, so you are not alone. Hopefully 5:2 is the only diet you'll ever need. :)

Hello to you too, Micktbaby! I'm so pleased to hear that you have made a good start on this new WOE (Way Of Eating). It seems to be working for many of us on this forum, albeit at varying speeds and with different approaches. I suppose that is inevitable with such a flexible WOE and so many people with different 'dieting' backgrounds. If you use the Progress Tracker, it will give you a boost to see the line on the graph moving downwards and it will add to the body of knowledge available to those interested in statistics. Don't forget to keep us posted on your weight and inches loss!

Thank you for your advice and welcome. I will look into using the progress tracker. This is exciting. Learning something new and discovering more about myself, coupled with an action plan for change. Yeah!
