The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

A complete newbie
31 Mar 2013, 13:09
Hello,
This is the first time I have ever posted on a site like this. I am not particularly overweight but have put on a stone and a half since meeting and marrying my husband. I have failed with all the well known diets but saw the Horizon programme last summer and that really struck a chord. It has taken me until now though to start my journey. I think I was afraid of yet more failure but then last Thursday I made a sudden spontaneous decision to fast and guess what...I survived!! Onwards and upwards.....

Onwards and upwards indeed. Welcome.
Hopefully, you'll find it gets easier. Do put your stats on the progress tracker and let us know how you get on

Can I add my welcome Jude30 to the forum and to 5:2. Hope you can find your way around here okay, I know if it's new it may all seem a bit strange, but the main thing is that the natives are friendly

As Jane suggests, do use the tracker if you can, and do have a look at the short answers faq (in the FAQ section, where else!)

Onwards & downwards even - for the weight, that is!
Welcome from me too. I would also say use the tracker, I find it really good to see my progress - it's a great reminder if you feel things aren't going too well.
