how long to wait

how long do you have to wait after your last meal before you can call yourself on your fast day or is it better to begin in the morning as will be fasting while asleep?

Most people start their fast after dinner on the day before, have their 500/600 kcals during the following day and then break their fast the day after.

In effect you get around 36 hours on 500/600 kcals.

The fast starts when the last meal of the day before the fast ends.
The counting of calories starts the minute you wake up on your fast day and ends when you go to bed.
That's what I do anyway and I succeed a 38-hours fast... there are some people who do 24-hours fasts (from lunch to lunch) but they report a slower weight loss.

HI - In theory I count it from when I last ate the night before. In practice though once I have finished eating the night before, the next day I do the fast and then the day after I have porridge for breakfast as normal. I have lost 13.5lb in 4 weeks but have a lot to lose!

We are all saying the same thing here, I think.
13.5lb in 4 weeks is quite good, IMO. You're 9,5lb above average!!!

Hi,
Newme2105 and I sound like we do exactly the same for the same resulting loss. I so look forward to that bowl of porridge!
