Finishing up Four Weeks on 5:2!
31 Mar 2013, 22:48
Other members of my family are on 5:2, but I've been on it the longest. Tomorrow I'll be weighing in, finishing up four weeks on 5:2! I feel a little smaller and really think I've lost weight. I'll post tomorrow!

The major thing I'm thrilled about is that today my husband started 5:2. He sees I'm really committed to it. We both watched the Eat, Fast and Live Longer video by Dr. Mosley, and right afterward, he said "I'm in!"...he won't read the book, but I've read it twice already, and have volunteered to be his coach.

This forum is just terrific, and just to let you know, the plan is really picking up speed here in the U.S., and I'm so glad!
I've been on the plan 2 weeks, DH has been on it 1 week. I just love it!

There is a PBS broadcast this coming Wednesday that I plan on watching about it.
gait, I'm wondering if the PBS show will be the same as the UK one. Anyone know?

The Fastdiet just made #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for hardcover advice books. So glad it's getting a of exposure!
I don't know. The only thing I've seen about the diet was on GMA, just a short segment. That is how I got started.

Just pulled up the PBS schedule, and this is what is said about the upcoming 1 hour show:

Science writer Michael Mosley sets out to become healthier and lose weight without making many changes to his life. To that end, he learns about the benefits of fasting, which can reduce the risks of heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.

I don't know if this is the same broadcast he has done before or a new one. I got it programmed on the DVR anyway.
My husband and I have been on this for 4 weeks with excellent results. We only count calories on fasting days and enjoyed a wonderful Easter buffet without calorie counting or guilt. This is a terrific way of life :)
Sounds like the original programming.
I've just finished my first 4 weeks on 5:2 as well and feel very happy with this new WOE.
I'm starting to have comments that I look really well- I've not lost enough for it to be the weight loss so it must be general health benefits.
I LOVE the fact that you are only dieting two days a week so don't have that awful feeling of deprivation, but the natural effect of the diet seems to stop you from being too "piggy" on the 5 days off.
Good luck to all for the long term.
Yeah, I think the documentaries are the same.

I've completed four weeks on 5:2. Weighed in this morning and I've lost 7.5 lbs. I am thrilled! I was a little apprehensive about weighing in, because I haven't exercised consistently, and there were days that I wasn't too mindful on my feed days, but I do feel I'm eating less on them, I don't count calories on feed days, and I'm enjoying life instead of letting some diet rule me.

I just love this way of eating. I've finally found a diet I can make a lifestyle.
