Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello everyone. Weemoglet here. I've been doing the 5:2 intermittent fasting diet for five weeks now but this week I've been trying the 2 till 2 24 hr fast as I'm not working. I'm really enjoying it so far. Today is the second fast this week and I'm four hours in. According to my scales I've gained over a stone in the psst week but lost one inch from my waist! Clearly the scales are dodgy so I can't say what my weight loss is but the reduction in my waist measurement is what I'm looking for, anyway.

Hi weemoglet and welcome! :)

Lots of people find that their tape measure is more reliable than their scales so you are not alone.
