Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi all, been doing 4:3 as not very good at slow results, doing three days on the trot may be slightly insane but it seems to work for me,I do find it strangely addictive!! Struggling as normally I like to exercise but am suffering with my second frozen shoulder in two years  Looking for some yummy recipes as that would help me a lot ....love my food!!Got a big family holiday this year and also the big 50th birthday which I swore I would be super slim and fit for! NEED TO SUCCED :like: :like:
Hello,
You've come to the right place for help and support. There are loads of recipe ideas in that section to get your teeth into.
I too have a holiday in about 10 weeks time and although I won't be superslim I want to be considerably smaller as I'll be sitting on a motorbike for 4 days to get to Rome.
It's my 50th as well in September so we have a fair bit in common. I'm doing 4:3 for the foreseeable future and I keep a fairly close eye on my feed day calories so I get maximum benefit from my fasts.
There's a link in resources to a TDEE calculator if you need an idea of the calories to aim for on feed days.
Good luck with everything and keep posting!
Ange1ine if 4:3 works for you that's great, but if you really find it "strangely addictive" be careful you aren't setting yourself up for an eating disorder. Check in with yourself. BTW, I'm turning 51 in a couple of weeks. I find it hard to associate that number with myself!!

I just started the 5:2 this week. Today is my second fast. I do think I'll find this easier to stick with than other diets. I find going "cold turkey" a lot easier than moderation and while normally you can't do that with food, going cold turkey twice a week and not really worrying about what I eat the other days just feels like it might break the cycle for me. I did over eat the last couple of days but I think it's just because I was pushing the boundaries. I think I will do better between tomorrow and my next fast on monday.

Happy birthday!!
