Hullo and thank you...

Dear 5:2 and other fasters,

I am so glad I found this board. I started 5:2ing 5th Feb and was getting a little disappointed as I have been losing about 1.5kg/month over the last two months and people on other forums (not fastdiet.co.uk) have been reporting huge losses.

I found you forum and read the post about how the average weight loss is about 1 lb which equals approx 1/2 kg per week. I sure am glad that my weight loss is just a little less than average.

I am suffering PCOS so weight loss can be hard and slow going at the best of times. Before 5:2ing I was low carbing and lost about 3kg. In two months of 5:2ing I have lost 3kg and it was a lot easier than low carbing!

I am really happy with this method of eating and I can see it becoming a way of life for me.

I look forward to learning lots more about this way of life from this forum.

Hello TheFrog and welcome to the 52fastdiet.co.uk forum.

Sounds like you are doing fine with your weight loss especially in view of your PCOS. This is not a rapid loss diet and although some people (especially those starting with very high BMIs) report big losses in the first couple of weeks these normally do (and should) come down to the c. 1lb/week level. In fact the long-term average is somewhat less than this as you can see from our overall forum stats.

Yes I agree this way of eating does feel sustainable and that is perhaps the most important thing about it, lots of diets produce weight loss but normally it just goes back on again afterwards. Lots of us feel that this one really is different.

I'm curious about the other forums you have visited - I like to keep an eye on the competition  . Maybe you could PM me?

Dominic - sorry not a Prince yet.
