Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

First week on the plan and things are going well. Survived my first fast day, but then I got a virus and the rest of my week were fast days! haha Did lose 4 lbs, not gonna complain about that. Hopefully its the start of something great!

Hi Olive and welcome to 52fastdiet.co.uk!

Well it's not the way any of us would choose to start a new diet but at least you got a good result at the end of week 1  Hope you are feeling better now...

Of course your weight loss will slow down after this and actually you might bounce back a bit in the next week, but don't lose heart, this is not a rapid loss diet but a steady and sustainable way to good weight and good health. The average weight loss is about 1 lb / week and for those of us who have been doing it for longer it is somewhat less. But slower weight loss is healthier than rapid, and we have all of us hopefully got enough time to get to our target as long as we can keep moving in the right direction.

The natives are friendly here at 52fastdiet.co.uk so do stick around and contribute too! Also good to put your numbers into our Progress Tracker, and if you are a nerd like me who likes stats you'll be interested in the overall forum charts.

How did you hear about this diet / way of eating / way of life (take your pick).
And (different question) how did you find this forum?

It does seem that folks are pretty friendly here, I think I'll stick around! I heard about the diet on a homeschool board, and then saw it on a few news programs in the US. I had lost 50 lbs on WW a few years ago, but I blinked and they came back :( It was about a lb a week for me back then, so I am not expecting anything to drastic.I found this board by doing an online search for info. Thanks for the welcome Dominic! (plus I love all things British, so who wouldn't want to chat with you all???)

Interesting, yes there has been quite a bit of publicity over the water recently, it's great that this is catching on with you chaps too! (I'm trying to sound absurdly British!)

Google I'm guessing. Great, this forum is getting busier all the time and full of lots of unique info so it is highly indexed by them, do you know what terms you searched for?

Oh, you say the nicest things  , well it's great to have someone from the Golden State on board. There are quite a few fellow Americans here too, but I guess most of them are probably sleeping now, so we'll whisper or we might wake them. Shhh!
