Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Another newbie

Hi everyone. I have had a weight problem all my life and currently need to lie about 5 stone. I hate being overweight and at 43 have been trying to lose weight since I was 16...sometimes with success but mostly not.

I currently belong to slimming world where I have had most success in the past, but I'm struggling to keep focused. What I find myself doing is being very strict just before weigh in to try and undo any damage and least maintain, and the relaxing a bit too much over the next few days.

My step mother has been doing this plan for a month and has done really well, prompting me to give it a go.

Knowing myself as I do though, I want to fast completely on fast days. Allowing myself a little food will only lead to me saying that a tiny bit extra won't make much difference, and there by the rot will set in. I also know that on days where I eat breakfast I am hungry all day, whereas if I miss breakfast I can go well until after lunch time without too much difficulty.

So that's the plan. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to this. I have a trip to Italy planned at the beginning of July so need to get a wriggle on!!!!
Xx

Welcome from me too. I don't eat anything on fast days until the evening, and then I do enjoy my 500ish cal meal. Are you thinking of having zero calories from waking up to going to bed again?

Anyway, it sounds like you have help close at hand with your step mother, so lots of luck whichever way you decide to do it :)
