Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Unfortunately 5:2 is not a quick fix as such, although most (overweight or obese) starters find their initial losses are higher - usually losing around a stone in 4-6 weeks depending on how much they have to lose. After the first couple of months it does slow to an average of around 1lb a week, which is a sustainable and healthy amount to lose.
The great thing about 5:2 is that it is flexible enough to fit around your lifestyle and unrestrictive enough that most feel able to keep doing it in the longterm, rather than the more traditional constantly restrictive diets which people usually get fed up of.
Please feel free to tell us a little more about your situation, what your goals are and what your 5:2 plans are and we'll try to give you some tips - and of course our support!
